It's that time of year when one of our most intense Shiraz wines is up for grabs in this Black Friday Deal

Today we're excited to officially release the new vintage which is dropping jaws for it's intensity and richness.

Here's what Master of Wine Phil Reedman has to say about this tremendous vintage...

  •  Boehms Black Barossa Valley Shiraz 2018 Andy made only 200 cases of this wine so, right from the start I’m saying that this is a rare and beautiful thing.

Don’t prevaricate or else you’ll miss out. Even as it approaches four years, old Boehms Block is still inky deep in colour; it carries that vibrant purple hue that says prime terroir, low yield, concentration’.

It doesn’t disappoint. For all its power though, this is a wine with poise and clarity. Brimming with vivid red berry fruits, licorice and dark chocolate.

The tannins support the fruit and give the wine both structure and that sought-after umami savoury character. It’s everything you want of a Barossa Valley Shiraz. Is it too young to drink now when it has another fifteen years or more of useful cellar-life?

I’d say it isn’t. Either decant it for half an hour or draw the cork and pour yourself a small glass….then leave for a few hours until dinner. By which time the air will have worked its wonders and the wine will have really opened up.

Get your six pack now and put some down in your Wine cellar so you've got some on hand for those Special occasions.

    Phil Reedman - MW

This is from what we consider our most premium Shiraz blocks, grown next door to some of Penfold's Grange producing vineyards, ancient soil and terroir pedigree that is hard to match anywhere.

A true "Grange" sub region this vineyard is a showpiece of Atze's most stunning vineyard sites and deserves to be in a "Single Vineyard" bottle of wine. For a true experience of black fruit and intense concentration look no further, this is the wine that will impress, full stop!

24 Months in 50% New American 50% New French oak Hogsheads to give a stunning oak finish.

      Vineyard/Viticulture:

Ebenezer - Iconic sub region at Northern tip of the Barossa Valley. Brown Clay loam over deep red clay.

Single cordon spur (hand) pruned vines, 2.2 tonne/acre, shoot thinned for the vine to produce high grade fruit.

Formerly owned by Ken Boehm, Boehm’s Vineyard is one of the most Northern blocks in the Barossa where the soil is some of the most ancient planted to vine on the planet. It consistently reaches A-grade level and inky black colour is unmatched by any another Shiraz vineyard on the Atze’s Estate. In fact it gives the blackest variety of them all, Durif, a run for it’s money most years!

    Boehm’s Black Shiraz 2017

First time I’ve tried the Boehm’s Shiraz. Really impressive wine Loved the depth, flavour, power and linger - are they correct wine terms?
