Opulent Shiraz 2018 – Special Museum Release
This limited Museum Release of our 2018 Opulent Shiraz has been carefully cellared by our family for the past eight years, allowing it to mature gracefully before release. Available exclusively in dozen packs at a special museum release price, this is a rare opportunity to experience this Shiraz at its peak.
Crafted from premium fruit grown on the Kalleske Estate in the Northern Barossa Valley, the 2018 vintage captures everything we love about classic Barossa Shiraz - generous dark fruit, spice and richness - now beautifully softened and layered by years of careful bottle ageing.
Tasting Notes:
The nose opens with aromas of blackberry, dark plum and black cherry, complemented by hints of cedar, vanilla, baking spices and subtle earthy complexity. The palate is rich and velvety, with beautifully integrated tannins supporting layers of ripe black fruits, liquorice, mocha and savoury oak. Eight years of bottle maturation have brought remarkable balance, elegance and length while retaining the unmistakable generosity of Barossa Shiraz.

Vineyard and Vinification:
Fruit was sourced from mature Shiraz vineyards in the renowned northern Barossa sub-regions of Ebenezer and Koonunga, where ancient soils naturally produce intensely flavoured fruit. Traditional winemaking techniques, including extended skin contact and gentle pressing, preserved the wine's richness and structure before maturation in a combination of French and American oak barrels. Following bottling, this wine remained in our museum cellar until reaching its ideal stage of maturity for release.
Vintage Notes:
The 2018 vintage is widely regarded as one of the finest Barossa seasons of the decade. Consistently warm conditions and excellent ripening produced Shiraz with exceptional concentration, balance and ageing potential. Eight years later, those qualities have evolved into a wine of remarkable depth, harmony and character.
