Decadent Cabernet 2022 – A Full-Bodied Classic from Barossa Valley

Discover the rich, smooth charm of the Decadent Cabernet 2022, a true Barossa Valley classic that offers a rounder, riper style of Cabernet, appealing to those who enjoy the fullness of a Shiraz but with the depth and complexity of a premium Cabernet. This wine showcases the essence of a remarkable vintage, delivering a full-bodied experience with intense flavors and a velvety texture.

Tasting Notes:
The Decadent Cabernet unveils a luxurious blend of blackcurrant, blueberry, and prune plum, with undertones of dark chocolate and roasted coffee adding layers of complexity. The warmer climate of the Barossa Valley allows this Cabernet to shed its initially austere nature, revealing a fruit-packed wine that is rich, savory, and smooth with svelte tannins and a lingering finish.

Why You'll Love It:

  • Full-Bodied Richness: A luscious Cabernet that combines the best of ripe fruit and complex flavors.
  • Intense and Elegant: A harmonious blend of dark fruits, chocolate, and coffee with savory tannins.
  • Aged to Perfection: 18 months in French Oak Barriques adds depth and a velvety texture.
  • Limited Edition: Small batch production, ensuring exclusivity and quality.
  • Cellar Potential: A wine that evolves beautifully over time, with the potential to develop for up to 10 years.

  • Alcohol: 14.5%
  • Harvest Date: March 2022

Best served with grilled red meat, rich creamy tomato-based dishes, or a selection of strong cheeses for a perfect pairing.

Serving Temperature:
Best served at 17°C to highlight its smooth texture and complex flavors.

Cellaring Recommendation:
This wine is ready to enjoy now, but with proper cellaring, it can evolve for up to 10 years, developing even more nuance and complexity with time.

Vineyard and Vinification:

  • Vineyard: Sourced from a single vineyard planted in 1998 in the iconic Ebenezer subregion of the Barossa Valley, known for its ancient soils that produce wines of exceptional intensity.
  • Vinification: Cold soaked on skins to extract color, with extended skin contact after fermentation for added structure. Aged for 18 months in 3rd-4th fill French Oak Barriques to preserve the fresh fruit character and introduce subtle oak influences.

Vintage Notes:
The 2022 vintage delivered exceptional fruit quality, providing a decadent, fruit-forward wine with a sophisticated balance of richness and elegance.

A great Barossa Red

This is the wine I had been missing since leaving the Barossa - full flavour, beautiful on the palate. I have banned my husband from drinking it, this one is all for me!

Amazing Value!

As I long-time fan of Cab Savs, I have to say this is right up there with the best! Beautifully rounded with the mint and savoury flavours I love in this style and incredibly smooth for a four year old Cab. Drink it now and why wait for the improvement I know cellaring will add!?
