2012 The Eddies Old Vine Shiraz – A Centenary Celebration of Barossa Heritage

Crafted from vines planted over a century ago, the 2012 The Eddies Old Vine Shiraz is a tribute to the Barossa Valley’s irreplaceable old vineyards. Named after Eddie Liebig and Eddie Staehr, who established the vineyard in 1912, this wine combines fruit from their pre-Gallipoli vines with grapes from a 59-year-old vineyard. With only 100 cases produced, this limited-edition wine is a rare find for collectors and connoisseurs alike.

The 2012 vintage was exceptional, yielding perfectly ripened grapes for winemaking. The result is a sumptuous, full-bodied Shiraz with remarkable complexity, balance, and finesse.

Tasting Notes:

The palate is luxuriously smooth and concentrated, featuring classic Shiraz notes of spicy dark damson and blueberries, layered with finely integrated oak. • Vineyard #2: Planted in 1951 with north-south orientation, featuring brown loam over red clay. Yield: 1.2 tonnes/acre.
  • Vineyard #3: Planted in 1975 with north-south orientation, featuring brown loam over red clay. Yield: 1.5 tonnes/acre.
